One of my primary drumming influences. For some reason, I decided to come and visit some of his videos today because I felt like people have forgotten him. He passed in 2012 and I'm still thinking about him and his playing.

One of the genius elements of Neil Peart was his lyrical prowess. He wrote lyrics that we find both relevant and relative and its had an enormous impact on us as listeners and musicians. 'Afterimage' from Grace Under Pressure is one example but there are others. I think 'The Garden" from Clockwork Angels is another great example. It was their last song together as a band and when you read the lyrics of the song, it brings everything we love about Rush full circle. 3 guys / 40+ years / ...magic (per Ray Daniels, their manager)
